Work on rewriting your paragraph into an essay.
On Monday, you should have: a thesis statement, the body with topic sentences, supporting points, details and examples, and a concluding statement.

Finish all the lab activities listed below including the ten perfect (error free sentences) if you want to go home at 2:50.

Tuesday Homework


  1. Photocopy pages 212-214 (first three pages).

  2. Work on your blog if you want. It needs to be done by Friday. The topic is: A frightening (scary experience. You must use subordinators: when, while, before, after, since, because, although, until, if, as, whenever, wherever etc.

  3. If you had trouble on the grammar test and got less than 75 %, please review your incorrect answers and write new sentences in the same verb tense (or passive voice) I will give you half credit.

Bring to class on Thursday: 1. brainstorming, outline, any research/references you used/and a one page paragraph first draft.

2. Please study for your quiz. It will cover everything we have done in class so far: verb tense, passive voice, pronouns, topic sentences (pages 4-6), FANBOYS (coordinating conjunctions page 13-14). If you want more grammar practice, click on the Lab Activities page.

Narrative = Chronological order, Expository = Logical order (list or ways/reasons)



  1. Write 8 sentences about your hometown in passive voice in the following tenses: simple present, simple past, future (will), future (going to), present continuous, past continuous, present perfect, past perfect.

  2. Blog: write about part of your weekend (Saturday afternoon for example) using chronological order.
